And so after several silent moments passed, Lisa asked him, "So, are things over between you and Catherine?"
In reply Vincent whispered, "For her sake it must be, I cannot bare to see her desire to be a mother progressively increase, as I remain seeded in my resolve."
Nodding, Lisa then clarified, "So, her desires to be a mother are so strong, she would forsake a life with you, to have a child by another man she does not love?"
The picture Lisa painted was cruel and hard to hear, so slowly Vincent pulled away and turned his back to her.
Lisa DID know it was harsh, but felt Vincent needed to hear this scenario out loud, in order to help him realize how unlikely it was Catherine would settle for such a life.
She waited a moment for Vincent to respond...and when he did not, she felt she needed to add an additional dose of reality by saying, "Hmm, isn't it funny, I did not figure Catherine to be such a helpless shallow woman!"
Turning Vincent argued, "Those are not words I would ever use to describe Catherine."
"Well you make her sound that way! Even though she has avowed her love to you, you feel you must decide what she needs, so I assume she cannot make decisions for herself."
In retaliation Vincent bellowed, "Catherine is the strongest most decisive person I know!!! She will stand against hell for her beliefs."
Softening her stance after getting Vincent to admit Catherine's strengths, Lisa asked, "Then why don't you at least give her the chance to fight and discuss this issue instead of hiding here like you did when you were a little boy. If you really love her...you will go to her. You at least owe her that Vincent."
Heaving a resigned sigh, he replied, "You are right, I am behaving like a child."
Raising a brow resisting agreement, Lisa smiled and took his hand in hers. And then asked, "What do you suppose you should do then?"
With clarity, Vincent answered, "I need to go to Catherine so we can discuss this issue until we reach a finality."
Pleased Vincent had come around to a sensible point of view, Lisa kissed him on the cheek, and taking his arm, they walked back to the tunnel main.
Vincent then listened to Lisa's plight, and helped her to decide she would not give up on the man she loved either.
Meanwhile, Mary and Rebecca decided to pay Catherine a visit after hearing the news of her and Vincent's problems from Jacob.
Softly calling from her threshold, the two women waited for Catherine to welcome them inside.
Catherine dried her tears, and then approached her chamber's entry, trying to hide her sorrow, she said, "Hello Mary, and Rebecca, come in."
Mary looked to Rebecca, and then back at Catherine and said, "Catherine, we heard you and Vincent have issues. Is there anything we can do?"
