As most of the tunnel community's female population, congregated in the
Bathing attention.

Everyone was asking her all kinds of questions about her and Vincents
wedding plans, and more imminently...what she was planning on wearing
tonight!

She told them tonight, she would be wearing a long off-the shoulder dress,
in a shade of deep blue, and her most favorite feature about the dress,
was its long draping sleeves.

Everyone excitedly said it sounded really pretty, and each of them said,
they would most likely be wearing, the same dresses they wore at last
years Winterfest.

As they exited the Hot Springs Chamber, Brooke approached Catherine
and asked if she could give her some pointers about getting ready tonight.

Jamie teasingly added,  "Yeah, she wants to look ravishing for when
Michael comes tonight."

Catherine looked downward, trying not to giggle at Jamie's comment, and
then looked to Brooke, and said, "Well I am no beauty expert, but I
would be happy to help you get ready. Why don't you come to my
chamber after you dress, and we will put on some finishing touches."

Saying that sounded great, she told Catherine she would see her shortly,
and then all the girls went their separate ways to get ready for the tunnel's
big event.

Meanwhile, Vincent preparing himself for the festivities, slipped on a
brown vest over his shirt, when softly he heard Mary address him from
his curtained threshold. He welcomed her inside, and as he saw how nice
she looked for the party, he told her, "Mary...you look lovely."

She bashfully looked downward, and said, "Thank you...I eh...I merely
stopped by to see if you needed anything..."

With a slight tremor to his sigh, he nervously answered, "I don't believe so
Mary."

Mary seeing Vincents choice of dress, brought her hand to her chin, and
hesitantly asked, "You still have that navy blue double breasted coat don't
you?"

Vincent looked downward at what he was wearing and worriedly asked,
"You don't think
this is suitable for tonight Mary?"

Mary thoughtfully said, "No...no, this vest looks very nice, it is just that..."

She then excitedly offered, "Well I don't believe I would be telling you
any tales out of school, if I told you Catherine's dress is a deep blue! And
I just thought if you coordinated your state of dress with hers, that it
would be a very nice touch!"

Vincent walked to his wardrobe, and pulled out the coat Mary spoke of,
and said, "If you think it would be an appealing way to approach this
celebration, then I will go with your advice Mary."

Mary smiled at Vincents willingness to accept her advice, and as she held
his coat as he slipped it on, she said, "Don't think of this celebration as
something you have to approach, but rather embrace! Embrace this
occasion! It is after all, your and Catherine's night."

As she spun him around to button the coat, she stepped back and said,
"Very handsome Vincent..."

As Mary teared up a bit, she then with a motherly embrace, whimpered,
"I am just so happy for you Dear..."

As he patted her back to comfort her, Vincent warmly said, "I know you
are Mary. Thank you for caring so much."

He then lightened his tone, as he said, "And....I thank you for the inside
information on the color of Catherine's dress. If the idea of coordinating
our dress, pleases you, then I am certain it shall please Catherine as well."

Vincent then teasingly added, "It is good to have a spy on the inside."

Taking a chastising swipe at him, she guiltily giggled, as she scolded, "A
spy? Now Vincent, don't put it that way! Although, for some reason, I do
feel a little devious...but I felt it was important!"

As she took a hankie from her sleeve to dab her eyes, Mary then scurried
toward the threshold, and said, "Well I must attend to a few more details.
I will see you at the party."

Meanwhile, Brooke went to Catherine's chamber, and asked, "Is this a
good time to help me Catherine?"

Over to see Brooke's before Photo

Since Catherine had just finished her makeup, and hair,  Catherine said it
was perfect timing, and then she motioned toward her vanity, and said,
"You look really pretty already Brooke! But come on over here, and sit
down."

Catherine looked at Brooke's outfit, and noticed the dress she had on
underneath the layers was really pretty, and so she asked, "Brooke...do
you think you need to wear the vest and sweater? I think your dress looks
like it alone would be perfect for tonight."

Looking downward at herself, Brooke admitted, "I think you're right!
Yes, I can slip off the vest and sweater."

Thinking this change already made some immense progress, Catherine
noted as she brushed through Brooke's hair, "You know you are already a
natural beauty, but what we can do, is enhance your features a bit, by
maybe plucking your brows just a little, and add a little color. Are you
game?"

Saying she was, Brooke then said, "Let's get started."

The two girls spoke about many things, and when Catherine brought up
Michael's name, she opened the flood gates! Brooke mentioned this about
him, and noted that, and finally Catherine cut in saying, "It sounds like
you and Michael have grown closer."

To which Brooke, blushed, and said, "We have. I miss him a lot ."

As Catherine finished up on Brooke's hair style, she then spun her
around, and with a pluck here and there, and after adding a bit of color to
her cheeks and lips, she was just about done. She then asked, "How do
you feel about mascara?"

To which she excitedly said, "A little wouldn't hurt."

And so with a little brush of the wand to her lashes, Catherine said,
"There, turn around to the mirror and see what you think."

Excited by the subtle changes Catherine made, Brooke gratefully
squealed, "Oh Catherine, what would I do without you!"

To which Catherine giggled, and warmly said, "You will be able to do
what I did. It's not that much of a change, just kinda opened your eyes up
a bit."

Realizing Catherine needed to get ready too, Brooke, thanked her, and
said she was going to go check on Laura and Jamie.

Catherine smiled as she watched Brooke leave, and thought the little extra
attention she gave her, seemed to give her the added confidence she
needed to really let her inner beauty shine though.

With a sigh, Catherine then said aloud to herself, "Now to get ready
myself!"

And so Catherine slipped on her dress, and then stood at the mirror to
inspect her image, hoping Vincent would like the dress she decided to
wear.

Just then Vincent appeared at her threshold, and silently he stood, taking
in how beautiful she looked.

Over to See Catherine

Then he spoke her name, to which she slowly turned to his voice, and
smiled...and breathlessly replied, "Vincent, you look so handsome."

Over to See Vincent

Stepping forward, he whispered, "And you...so beautiful."

Catherine beamed at his coat of blue, and stated, "We must be on the
same wavelength! What a coincidence!"

To which Vincent cleared his throat, and replied, "I confess to having a
stylist. Mary suggested I wear this coat over another, as she knew what
you would be wearing."

Catherine laughed softly and asked, "Well I am beginning to wonder, what
would we do without Mary?"

Vincent smiled as he said, "Floundering to be sure."

He then informatively told Catherine, "As I passed by Mouse on my way
here, he told me the Great Hall is filled to overflowing with guests...it is
time."

With a nod, she accepted his guiding arm and said lovingly, "I am ready
Vincent."

Over to See Catherine and Vincent Together

They then walked to the Great Hall, and as they approached the steep
rustic steps, they could hear singing, talking and laughter coming from the
celebration below.

As they descended the stair case, the smell of delicious foods filled the
bottom casement of The Chamber of the Winds, and as their excitement
grew, they stood for a moment at the threshold of the Great Hall, before
they made themselves known.

Of course no official announcement needed to be made when they
stepped from the shadowy entrance, and into the gaily candle lit
Hall...silence drowned out the gaiety, and excited gasps could be heard
throughout the crowd, as word spread, the enchanted couple had arrived.

A very proud Jacob and a tearful Mary, stepped up to welcome them.
With a smile in his eyes, Vincent looked at his Father, warmed by the
fact, he could sense his happiness for him.

Mary then said, "Catherine, you look lovely..." and then to Vincent she
said, "...and you Vincent...you never looked so handsome."

She then with a Motherly manner, adjusted his collar, and said, "Yes,
very handsome."

She then took in an emotion laden breath, and looked to Jacob and said,
"Well, Father, it is time you announce Catherine, and Vincents arrival."

Even though it was not necessary to do so, Jacob complied, and then
turning to the guests, he said, "May I present...my son Vincent, and his
Bride-to-be, Catherine! Let us celebrate, along with them...their
Engagement."

Everyone clapped, as they welcomed them, and as the initial excitement
died, Vincent, and Catherine, graciously made their rounds about the
room.

And as they spoke to their guests, top-siders, and tunnel folks alike, the
same question was on everyone's mind, which was, "Where were they
going to live?"

And so being sort of forced into a decision, they happily decided, and
announced, Catherine's chamber would be renovated, and expanded,
making it into their own.

They then continued onward, and spoke with Lin and Henry, along with
Dr. Wong, they moved on to Benny, Rosa, and Morty. And also greeted
Sebastian, who had to everyone's relief, recovered from his bout with
Pneumonia! They then approached Ronald and Jennifer too, who were
talking with Peter.

And as they said hello, Jennifer excitedly said, "Cath you look so pretty,
and you Vinny, you look really handsome! You know, I really love this
"Gothic" thing you both have going on."

She then looked around with stars in her eyes, and said, "This is such an
exciting night!"

Ronald too complimented Catherine, and then Peter warmly said, "I agree
Ronald...I don't think I have ever seen Catherine look so pretty..."

He then hugged, and kissed her on the forehead, and said, "...or so
happy."

He then beamed at the circle of friends, and bragged, "Cathy has asked
me to give her away you know! Quite an honor!"

Ronald kiddingly said, "What was that Peter? I don't believe I heard you
the other 50 times you mentioned it!"

Catherine hugged Peter back, and said, "Well, I don't know about an
honor for Peter, but it definitely is an honor for me. All through my
life...Peter has always been there for me..."

Just then Jacob and Mary walked up, and Catherine looked around the
Hall and said, "Everything looks so beautiful Mary...all the red roses and
carnations...bows and candles...everything is just perfect."

Exalted by the compliment, Mary regally said, "It did come together quite
nicely. Of course I had help, and Rebecca essentially organized the
decorating."

She then noticed Catherine and Vincents empty hands, and said, "You
must go over to the appetizers, and indulge! There are some lovely
hordeves to enjoy."

Ronald then looked down at Jennifer, and proudly offered, "Jennifer
brought a dish too, my favorite, the stuffed mushrooms she makes so
well."

Catherine expounded, "You did Jen? Hmm, I love when you make them!"

Jennifer shyly replied, "I know, and well, Ronny likes them too."

As everyone stood talking, Rolley got everyone's attention, and addressed
the guests, telling them, "The children have arranged a small concert, so
while you enjoy the appetizers, and visiting with friends, they will sing for
you, and after we dine, they have a play, which Lisa had helped them
with. So children, if you are ready..."

Rolley then raised his hands, and began conducting them in song. They
started out with
"The Sweetheart Tree" then "A Song for You" and onto
"Save the best for Last".

Everyone stopped to listen to the sweet voices of the children, enjoying
the romantic assortment Rolley had chosen for them to perform.

Vincent looked over at Catherine, as she listened to songs, and could not
help but to gaze in wonder at this beautiful woman, who had consented to
marry him.

He thought back on their history, and rationalized they had traveled
through some questionable times...but yet...here they were, still together,
and now...ready to marry.

Catherine unexpectedly looked at him, to share this musical gift from the
children, and as she saw the pensive look on his face, with concern she
intimately asked, "What is it Vincent?"

Being caught off guard, he hesitated a moment before he gathered his
thoughts. He then discreetly shared, "Just thinking of how we have risen
above all other truths, and are making a life together."

Catherine narrowed her gaze, and unwaveringly, she clarified, by softly
saying,  "Creating our own truths, and together...we are making a
happy
life."

Vincent becoming lost in Catherine's eyes, finally whispered, "Yes...a
happy life for each other."

As everyone began to clap for the children, Vincent and Catherine joined
them in applause, wanting to express the joy and pleasure their beautiful
singing voices had brought them.

Lisa then walked up breathlessly, and said, "At last, I think the last detail
has been ironed out! Now I can come out and join the grown-ups!"

She then elegantly laughed, and as she hugged Jacob's arm, she looked
over at Vincent and Catherine and asked, "Are you enjoying your night
thus far?"

With a smile, Vincent affably said, "Yes Lisa, to share such an occasion
with family and friends, clearly helps to emphasize just how auspicious
this event is in Catherine, and my life."

He then added, "We are so happy you are here."

Without any consciousness of everyone else looking on, Lisa with
heartfelt emotion said, "I would not have missed it for the world."

She then took in a breath, and looked around at Ronald and Jennifer, and
said, "Very nice to see the both of you."

With a strong confident voice, unaffected by Lisa's presence, Ronald took
hold of Jennifer's hand, and said, "Nice to see you too Lisa. Doesn't the
Hall look great?"

Lisa looked around, and said, "Yes, it reminds me of the last Winterfest I
had attended. The festive decor takes me back to another time. So many
candles, and the smell of good food. It would seem as though William
may have outdone himself."

Jacob patted Lisa's hand, which was so elegantly draped over his arm,
and agreeably said, "I believe you are right Lisa! He just may have."
